Blessed Yule

It's getting close to that time!!
With only a few days until Yule, I will not be around to post on the blog this week.
That being said, I have alot of changes in mind for the following weeks and I hope you all will like them!  Now that I no longer have my practical magick domain, it occured to me that I really don't need two blogs - so I will be combining all of the information that was formerally on PracticalMagick.net to this blog... lots of info coming and all in one neat, tidy place!!  Also, in the new year, I will get back into my regular postings: Kitchen Witch Wednesday, Magickal Herb Friday and so on.

I wish you and yours a bountiful and safe Yule!!

'Tis the Season?

© Jennifer Singleton
It seems like everyone is having trouble getting into the spirit of the season this year.  I'm just not feeling it...  the warmth and joy that is normally present just hasn't been expressed yet.  I haven't even gotten our Yule Tree or decorations up. I think it has alot to do with the sadness I am feeling about the commercialization of this holiday, the greed of everyone.

Have you gotten into the spirit of the season yet?

KWW: On a Friday?!

I had every intention of posting a KWW on Wednesday... but time just slipped away from me.  So here is my Kitchen Witch Wednesday... on Friday!!

I love this simple Alphabet - I have it posted on Practicalmagick.net...  Enjoy :)

Kitchen Witch's Alphabet

Always stir in a clockwise motion
Before you chop veggies, offer thanks
Cut mindfully, gratefully
Do all preparations in a loving spirit
Energize food with good thoughts
Feast gratefully
Give and share what you can spare
Home and hearth are sacred
Invoke blessings of Goddess on all food
Join hands with friends often
Kindness shows in serving food
Love goes into every dish
Mindfully gather ingredients
No wasting - recycle, compost, feed animals
Open your senses, enjoy your surroundings
Play as well as work
Quench thirst, thinking of clear clean rivers
Resolve to be grateful & waste not
Salivate as you smell fragrance & anticipate flavors
Thank the Universe & Goddess for health
Use utensils carefully, then clean up
Value time spent with loved ones
When possible grow & harvest your food
eXtra food is for creative recombining
Yearly rituals & feasts build traditions
Zestful living in every area is our goal.

Without Witches...

Can You Imagine?
(For the Child in All of Us)
by Robert F. Potts

Can you imagine a world without witches,
A world with all people the same?
Where the only known dragons are hiding in books,
And children are terribly tame?
A world without magic would be sad indeed.
I cannot imagine the pain
Of having a world where there's no Santa Claus,
Where wizards are searched for in vain.

Can you imagine a world without spells,
That science and businesses run?
And think of the sadness a unicorn feels
When he no longer plays in the sun
Can you imagine a world without witches,
No elves, and no magical pools?
And can you imagine how dull it would be
If all that we had were the schools?

I cannot imagine a world without witches,
A world with no magical wand.
A world without beauty, or even a dream,
Or a wood sprite of whom to be fond
They say I should grow up and be more mature,
Like a normal adult ought to do.
But I'd rather, at night, go to dance with a witch,
And I'll bet that you feel that way, too.
